Rough Storyboard for Page Two

Here I use rough drawings to create the flow and storytelling for the comic. Because we are using a scrolling format I have to think about ways to entertain our readers in a creative and interactive way while they literally scroll down the page. This also means that this comic in much longer than a regular comic page. Reading one scrolling page is equal to reading a full chapter of a regular comic book, graphic novel, or any other single page format. My challenge was to fit these chapters into around 50 frames and to keep the story entertaining for those reading. This segment is cut from a much larger story board for your convenience.

Scourge of the Skies

Two teens are given more than they bargained for when they stumble across an encrypted map leading to a priceless treasure; granting them the means to plan the biggest heist of the millennia. However, it’s not going to be easy. What challenges and consequences await them, and just what *is* this treasure?

Scourge of the Skies is a collaborative project between myself and 3 other creatives. We worked together to create interesting interactive experiences for our audience, all while exploring topics such as disability, sexuality and gender, class, and generational gaps in an interesting and fun way.

The current Pillot is a total of four chapters long and is currently hosted on Webtoon.com.

Design and Effects

After taking each panel onto Clip Studio Paint to add effects, mood lighting, and doing colour corrections I begin the process of aligning the panels for upload onto the website we use to host the web comic. Here I carefully fit the images together in a way that tells a good story using space to create good comedic timing as well as make sure the interactive panel scrolls properly.

Finished Page

This is what the final product looks like after all of the edits, effects and story is put into place.
